welcome to my music page !
hai hai all !! as of november 2025, i've essentially fully quit using spotify. for over a year prior to this decision, i was already somewhat not using it, by using sideloadly to sideload a free ipa of spotify premium (i used eevee) onto my phone. this was good but simultaneously mildly annoying since i couldn't find a free one year certificate anywhere and thus had to reload it every couple weeks or so (for those uninitiated, sideloaded apps will "break" every week or two (?) and you will be unable to open or use them. a one year certificate (or whatever time frame i guess) will prevent this from happening for a year, but they're about $20 from what i remember from like a year ago. for the jailbreakers out there, no i can't use trollstore cause my phone's version is too high).
for my main music listening, i now use an ipod. the ipod i use is a silver ipod nano 3rd generation with 4gb of storage, which i got for about $20 off facebook marketplace. it's honestly much better than spotify, and while 4gb is really not a lot of storage, i don't listen to a large variety of music anyways, i generally swap out new music every week or so, and there's always about 1gb free. one of the big upsides is that the battery is super good. i've never needed to go out of my way to charge it, i kinda just leave it plugged into my laptop as i add music and that's generally enough to last like a whole week. my phone's pretty old so not having spotify playing 24/7 also allows my phone to not be drained in 4 hours. the main downside is that i am extremely pedantic about editing the metadata of all my albums, so it takes super long to add music, but that's really my bad. it can also get pretty warm but then again australian summer just goes crazy sometimes. usually i like to go all out on decorating my tech, but my ipod only has two stickers: a green clover on the left and a yellow star on the right, i figured i'd be using it too much to risk stickers peeling off. also i freaking love the cover flow feature its so kewl.
for my laptop, i switched to wacup, a newer, desktop version of winamp. i really wasn't using my laptop for music previously so i kind of have it just to have it. mainly just for the fun skins. i have yet to figure out how to add plugins but perhaps one day..
all the cds i own
i bought my first cd in mid 2023, and have been collecting them ever since. i have spent countless dollars on this damn hobby but oh well i suppose. most of these are official but a few are burnt. i listen to my cds using a sony dvp-ns728h (cd player that doubles as a dvd player), yamaha rx-v795a (sound receiver), and a jamo 7.6 (speaker) for anyone curious. i've tried to narrow down when i acquired these as best i can but i didn't begin tracking them until october 2025. all dates in dd/mm/yyyy format btw.
